Inauspicious Beginnings

I have a horrible feeling that I saw in the New Year with a migraine.
Was feeling odd earlier in the evening, but put it down to being tired, and possibly having caught
ladymoonray's horrible sinus thing. There's a thing I get used to get, when I suffered from migraines, which have stopped, OK, universe?, like a hiccup in reality or a sideways shift, and I had that a couple of times while I was at B-Movie. (Apologies to anyone who caught me at rather less than my best: in retrospect, shouldn;t have gone, but I didn't think I'd feel so grim.) Then was ghastly ill when I got home -- rather ahead of poor sick friend though she did have a
swisstone-shaped bodyguard -- and abruptly had to lie down in a dark room. From which I have just emerged.
ladymoonray has been taken home to die in her own bed -- or, preferably, recover in her own bed -- and I have a choice of futons to languish upon.
Proof of illness: I'm glad it's a horrible dull rainy day.
It's not quite like the migraines I used to get (remember, Universe, they stopped). I never had one at night before, and there's been less nausea; and I managed to sleep quite a lot between bouts. There are enough similarities, though, to make me feel very gloomy. I'd much rather have a week (or even more) of horrid sinus thing -- than which I think it's also a little different -- and get through it eventually, than have the prospect of more random, crippling migraine-maulings. I really thought they had gone. I haven't had one since August, and this was not a good time to begin the new season ...
I've had a bath, got semi-dressed and drunk some tea, and I'm determined to stay up for a couple of hours at least: the pain's ebbed, though I'm feeling very wobbly and weepy (also typical post-migraine state), and, er, my pillow is covered with orange hair-gel, must change pillowcase, haven't the strength ...
On the bright side -- there is always a bright side -- 2005 can surely only improve!
