(Actually, can one postvaricate? It's not that I haven't done anything today -- I've picked up parcel, gone for a walk in Greenwich Park, taken photos, and written three chunks of NaNoWriMo: just have more I intend to do, but am doing this instead ...)

20 Years Ago, I ...
1. Was living in Norwich, first-year undergraduate.
2. Was writing abyssmal Gothic fantasy.
3. Was trying to get rid of a psycho boyfriend who'd followed me to Norwich.

15 Years Ago, I . . .
1. Was living with an options dealer in New Malden.
2. Was working for a large retail company.
3. Went to Los Angeles to visit my friend Rose.

10 Years Ago, I . . .
1. Had discovered fandom and was going to conventions.
2. Was drinking and smoking far too much, mostly because I hated my job (insurance) so much.
3. Was living in my own 1-bed flat in Balham with a variety of temporary 'lodgers', e.g. friends down on their luck.

5 Years Ago, I . . .
1. Went to Devon with [livejournal.com profile] lproven, [livejournal.com profile] drpete, [livejournal.com profile] nolley, [livejournal.com profile] gummitch and [livejournal.com profile] flickgc to see (or, actually, not see) the total eclipse.
2. Had given up hope of selling the novel I'd written in 1995.
3. Was worried about my father's health.

3 Years Ago, I . . .
1. Was desperately, single-handed, trying to sort out my father's health and living arrangements.
2. Was visiting Plymouth every other weekend to see my father.
3. Was working, contract-based, for a reinsurance company.

1 Year Ago, I . . .
1. Wasn't working at all, but was gradually running out of savings etc.
2. Was writing fan-fiction, the first fiction I had written for many years.
3. Was visiting Plymouth every month to see my father.

So far this year, I . . .
1. Have started reading books again.
2. Have started writing original fiction again.
3. Have stopped taking any prescribed medication.

Yesterday, I . . .
1. Wrote over 3,000 words.
2. went to Tesco's in the rain to buy dinner.
3. Went to B-Movie, which I mostly enjoyed (spangles! dinosaurs!) but was too crowded for me to feel comfortable about.

Today, I . . .
1. Have walked to the sorting office in Deptford to pick up a late birthday present.
2. Have raced the sunset to Greenwich Park (it won).
3. Have written just under 3,000 words.

Tomorrow, I . . .
1. Will write some more.
2. Will sleep as late as possible.
3. Will email my sister about my next visit to Plymouth.

Gosh, how dull it all sounds!
So I'll add:

Next week, I . . .
1. Will go book-buying in search for books about 17th-century Indonesia / Malaya.
2. Will swim twice.
3. Will see Finding Neverland with [livejournal.com profile] ladymoonray.

Next month, I . . .
1. Will finish current contract at Major Retail Giant.
2. Will go to Plymouth.
3. Will spend Christmas with dear friends.

Next year, I . . .
1. Will live somewhere else.
2. Will try to find another really flexible job.
3. Will tidy up this NaNoWriMo thing and see if it's a real novel.

I accused [livejournal.com profile] bugshaw of having postmonitions yesterday. She normally has anxious dreams before going on holiday about packing the wrong stuff or missing flights, but her recent trip to Sicily with [livejournal.com profile] groliffe et al was arranged at such short notice that she's having them now she's got back.
