Of all the bands/artists in your cd/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by?
By percentage of product or by sheer output? I have every album Dalbello released (all one of it). Erm ... Patti Smith, probably
What was the last song you listened to (voluntarily)?
Don't Lose Your Dreams (Excerpt from a Teenage Opera, 154) by Wah
What's on your record player right now?
Biber - Missa Salisbergensis. (Looking for the Brussels mass, heard on radio broadcast of Prom in summer: glorious! But can't find it in any real shops).
What song would you say sums you up?
When? Off the top of my head: Lust for Life, Shut Your Mouth, Communication Breakdown, Exterminating Angel, unm, er, some others.
What's your favorite local band?
I don't know any local bands in Lewisham: and 'London' is kind of a big playing field. (Having said that, no idea anyway).
What was the last show you attended?
New York Dolls, I think: RFH.
What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
Patti Smith at Hackney Ocean; or Renaissance at the Astoria, not because they were 100% brilliant but because I've loved their music since I was a wee thing in the 70s. No, no, wait, I've got it: Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, first headline gig at the Astoria, 1991.
What's the shittiest band you've ever seen in concert?
There are too many contenders, and I really don't want to think about all the bad gigs I've seen. The gig I was most pissed off at not enjoying was Stranglers, Brixton Academy, 1989(?): out of time, out of tune, out of luck. We left halfway through.
What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
Past caring about band members. Isn't it all done with mirrors these days?
What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
Used to write gig reviews andshag go out with lots of musicians, back in Norwich.
What show are you looking forward to?
Siouxsie! RFH, 16th October.
What is your favorite band shirt?
The Siouxsie '7 Year Itch' is the one I wear most; that or Garbage.
What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
Early Beethoven.
What musician would you like to hump for a day?
From my experience, none of them can manage a whole day. But, um, Robert Plant (in 1973).
Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
Sabbath
Commodores or solo Lionel Richie?
the sound of fingernails on a blackboard
What was the greatest decade for music?
70s. Or now. (70s on basis that all my favourite music came out then: but I was too young to enjoy it)
How many music-related videos/dvds do you own?
Amadeus.
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Once Upon a Time in Mexico
What's the crappiest CD/record/etc you've ever bought?
Like 'worst gig' this is a very long list. Nothing ventured, nothing taken back and exchanged.
Do you prefer vinyl or CDs?
CDs, less fragile. (But really MP3s, ultra-portable)
All totalled, how much do you spend on music in a month?
Not a lot these days -- mostly gig / concert tickets and the occasional classical CD. Am back to teenage years of persuading all my friends to bootleg stuff!
And a couple of new ones
Last album you paid money for?
Rachid Taha, Made in Medina
Band you'd most like to see / have seen?
Led Zep
