Ah, I see the confusion, and it is indeed my fault.
FH is known in Oxford circles as 'The Hatted One'. She is invariably to be encountered wearing a black hat. However, as a hat wearer myself, I feel obliged to point out that one needs different hats for different occasions; for instance, yesterday evening, I was wearing my black felt hat to the farm, whereas the ideal hat under those circumstances is my Greg Norman black paper hat (think something along the lines of a straw hat, but the 'straws' are flattened paper ones). As a result, yesterday I was sweating so much that it was dripping off the rim, whereas with the right hat, it would have cooled my head properly.
A few weekends ago, at uitlander's BBQ at which I was running the actual cooking for the first 4 hours, I was extremely glad to be wearing that light hat. But FH turned up in that heat wearing the same hat she always wears.
Hence my feeling that she needs another hat - something for the really, really hot days.
