Quick Post-Exercise Meal: Recipe
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008 08:32 pm[I came home from Pilates class very hungry indeed, and prepared this in under 5 mins, and fed the cats. And it's not too unhealthy.]
You will need:
- one pack flavoured microwaveable rice (the Tilda ones aren't too heavy on the flavouring: I had Yoghurt, Chickpea and Mint)
- some CHEESE
- a tin of tuna (optional)
- some miscellaneous vegetables from fridge (I used Peppadew peppers and some elderly mange-tout)
- one egg (optional)
Do this, in this order:
1. Put rice in microwave to cook.
2. While it is cooking, roughly cube some CHEEEEEESE and slice up your veg etc. Open tuna. Remove cat.
3. When microwave pings, remove rice and decant into a microwaveable bowl.
4. Add the egg and stir until it is broken up and starting to cook from heat of rice.
5. Add everything else (except the cat) to the egg-and-rice.
6. Microwave contents of bowl for another 2 minutes, in which time you could feed the cat.
7. Devour contents of bowl. (Remind cat that his food is On The Floor.)
This makes enough for two moderate servings, or 'dinner' and 'breakfast' as I like to call 'em.
