My cats are in league with the doctor.

The doctor just told me that I was probably still infectious and certainly not clear of the viral thing that's laid me low for the last week. So I have to have another week off werk.

The cats were celebrating* when I got home. They think it is fab that I will be spending another week lounging around reading books, taking naps and generally being good company for cats.

I would feel more guilty about the sense of relief if I didn't genuinely feel wiped out, sore and sick. None of which will stop me lying on the bed reading, etc, but would stop me travelling to work and putting in anything like a full day in an over-airconned office with nowhere to curl up and rest.

*for values of 'celebrating' that include 'lurking behind the TV, purring loudly' and 'giving the gardener the evil eye'

A week off work is all well and good, but not if you're not well enough to enjoy it!
Hope you're soon better.

Oooh, not good being ill. But if you are well enough to lay about and read, you need to enjoy that part of it while you can.

I can imagine your cats' joy. My cats, and Jack the Puppy feel the same way when I'm home with them.

Take care, and feel better soon.

I understand the guilt/ sense of relief - and agree you're quite right to stay home and recover.

Enjoy the comfort reading.
