Last time I came off my bike in London, it was a source of copious amusement for bystanders.

Just now (having swerved to avoid an especially gormless squirrel, and jack-knifed the bike) I was invited indoors to sit down, given a glass of water and some tissues, and generally looked after.

I came off surprisingly lightly: was sure I heard the crunch of breaking bone as my face met the lovely suburban brick road, but nose (never my best feature) is only a little swollen, and not bleeding much. Hideous headache, though, and assorted other aches. Am giving myself the afternoon off job-hunting, which was due to start, er, this afternoon. Sofa + cats + sunshine seems much more tempting.

If you see a squirrel, run it over. From me.

Hugs.

Of course, if this happens in future, you have the solution to hand. Next time a squirrel gets in your path, throw a cat at it. It'll shift.

I was told that you should never swerve/stop for anything smaller than a dog.

Of course, that was assuming you were in a car.

Much sympathies. I don't cycle too much these days, (I know, I know) but last time I came off I felt really shaken up for a while. I reccommend good music and a good book in the sunshine (of which we have none up here.)

Ouch! Hope you feel less bruised soon.

I'll mention your feelings about squirrels to my Father who will, undoubtably, shoot a few dozen in your honour.

Ouch.

There, does that help a bit?

(slighty upsetting here though, as we haven't seen PoD for the best part of a year now)

Ow indeed. Yet another strike against the blasted tree-rats.

(I used to think they were cute, you know. Then I lived somewhere that was positively infested with the little gits...

Oh sweetheart, I'm sorry that had to happen when I wasn't there to pick you up. I must owe you several by now!

Have a warm bath whenever the aches get too much, and take care of yourself. Loads of sympathy on the swollen nose. It's a good thing you don't sleep on your front.

Can I come down and make soup and things for you on Wednesday?

*hugs*

T is only a little better at cycling than I am (which is unfortunately not saying very much). I think hitting a squirrel with her bike would probably have had much the same effect as the jacknifing...

I don't suppose your granny's collection of taxidermy includes a squirrel, does it?

Au weiah. Take it easy and apply cats and hot chocolate while reading something undemanding.

I thought Tanya might want to place it in the garden as an example to the others.

If I stuffed and mountedexhibited examples of every species that'd pissed me off, I'd have a very crowded garden. Though some could double as scarecrows, I suppose.
