Even if you think it's a wasted vote, even if you think they're all as bad as each other, even if you're in the wrong sort of safe seat, even if it's bloody cold out there, even if there are no decent candidates in your constituency, even if there's a queue, even if there's a Tory hanging around outside trying to engage you in conversation, even if you're really busy, even if you can't find your poll card, even if you wish 'hung parliament' referred to nooses and gallows, even if you have been traumatised by canvassers, even if it takes a while to climb over the mounds of propaganda that've drifted in through your letterbox, even if that book / DVD you've been waiting for has just arrived, even if you're afraid of encountering a BNP activist, even if you don't give a damn.

[FILM] Iron Man 2

A pleasant afternoon at Cineworld (hey, free ticketses thanx Tesco), followed by cocktails, with la_marquise_de_*.

Good things about Iron Man 2:
- Robert Downey Jr playing another humble, retiring, diffident type doing his utmost to make Tony Stark a three-dimensional character
- MICKEY ROURKE FTW. (What is it about Rourke and pets? I shall never forget the small canine in Once Upon a Time in Mexico.)
- excellent soundtrack inc. 'Should I Stay or Should I Go'
- improbable Genius Home Projects
- some nice one-liners
- MICKEY ROURKE did I mention?
- Prince of Persia trailer, which lured us both
- Robert Downey Jr's dressing-gown
- ( spoiler )

Less-good things about Iron Man 2, which I mostly ignored:
- Scarlet Johannsen's action scenes (tho' the first one wasn't bad)
- attempts to weave in Avengers-related plot threads
- the 'plot'

*apart from the spluttering, ectoplasm and scary 360-degree skull rotation during the trailer for Robin Hood. I think it distressed her.
