WIN! Rang Dell this morning re dead laptop (which came, from the Dell Outlet, with a 3-year guarantee) and after 30 mins of beeps and psychedelic display artefacts they diagnosed Dead Motherboard and are sending an engineer! Tomorrow!

WIN! and I still get my beach-day tomorrow because bugshaw is working from home and happy to open door to Laptop Doctor!
