Short Stories Online, Day 16
Thursday, March 8th, 2007 09:47 amSo far I have had one (1) response to the question of this week's theme -- and this post will prove it wrong!
'Vanilla Bright Like Eminem', by Michel Faber
I found The Crimson Petal and the White much more satisfying than any of the interconnected stories in Faber's follow-up anthology, The Apple. I suspect he's a writer who's best working on a large canvas (if you'll excuse the mix of metaphor there). But this story is so very different in tone to Faber's other work -- while demonstrating the same eye for detail -- that it's interesting simply for contrast.
