Positive things for Thursday

1. Sample chapter of Gwyneth Jones' next novel, the last in the sequence that started with Bold as Love
2. Excellent dinner with ladymoonray in the Chinese restaurant at the top of the road -- my first visit since moving to The Countryside last July.
3. Purring cat to keep me warm as I went to sleep.

Positive Things for Friday

1. ladymoonray, who broke her already-delayed journey (in Three Bridges, of all places) to patch me together this morning.
2. My boss, who is Fab and Sympathetic and ready to laugh with (not at) me when I start crying mid-sentence.
3. My blood pressure has actually gone down.

Stupid Things for Friday

1. I was ever so tempted to stay home and ring in sick -- or to give up and go home, considering the mess the trains were in this morning -- but decided to go into the office because I left my USB stick there last night -- with half-finished book review, werk stuff and most of what I've written over the last year or so.

Guess where that USB stick is now.

2. Three cups of coffee (and a Red Bull) on an empty stomach.

3. Deciding I didn't have time for a hot drink on my way home because the departure board said the train would be there in 5 minutes.
