Feeling a little bad-tempered about country living this morning. For some reason today's cab ride from station to office was more stomach-upsetting than usual: I do have a tendency to travel-sickness, and it seems much worse first thing in the morning. (Though hardly 'first thing', since by the time I get to Horsham I've been awake for hours.) A working day that starts with me feeling too queasy to look at my screen can surely only get better.

I'm keen to see Brokeback Mountain, but suspect I'll have to wait 'til next weekend, when I'll be visiting Zone 6. I could see it in Crawley tonight, but I'd have to hang around for a couple of hours, and Crawley on a Friday night is not a pleasant prospect. (Might be an option one night next week, though it'd mean getting home pretty late.) Engineering work means no trains this weekend: I could brave the Rail Replacement Bus to Brighton tomorrow or Sunday, though I'd better get some more travel-sickness pills before I try that. Tonight's evening showing in Brighton, at 2030, is not an option: I'd miss the last train, which is at 2302.

I don't mind having a quiet weekend: it's just that I'd like a little more say in just how quiet it is!

Am thinking nice positive things about Sleep, and Writing, and Roaming the Common. Putting away the last of the Christmas decorations. Brushing the cats. Scrubbing the fish. Paperwork. Books.

Am trying not to fret about whether I have left the back door unlocked, or left the key in the door, or something.
