Gmail won't load this morning's emails: Amazon.uk is very sorry, but: NaNoWriMo gives me blank pages most of the time*.

It's like a message from the universe.

The message is stop staring at that screen and go out of doors before it starts raining again.

*perhaps this is something to do with the likelihood of my producing blank pages. But nothing ventured, etc.

Mostly, I've been rereading, and I'm not listing those here. Read my father's copy of The Yellow Admiral (Patrick O'Brian) while having a bad night in that nameless period -- doesn't it have a name in Jewish tradition? -- between death and funeral. Have just reread all Steven Brust's Dragaera books, too: I was reading Issola when I got the news, finished it on the plane, and spent quite a while wishing I could simply come home, ferret around in the loft for the rest of the series, then lie on the sofa and read solidly for days.
