Hull (like you care)

Have been to Hull and back. The various roads did not seem to be paved with good intentions, but neither were they paved with traffic jams. A long day, nonetheless: 17 hours door to door, of which about 7 were spent in the Glorious North, where it rained. My digital camera is still in the back of Designated Driver's car, so artistic shots of the Humber Estuary and photographic evidence of various imaginary internet friends (amazing what you can do with computers) will have to wait.
It's very strange meeting imaginary internet friends: these are people who know more, and different, things about me than do those of you 'real life' people. At least there's none of that tedious social circling: we know we like one another or we wouldn't, for heaven's sake, have gone to Hull. Strange, though, to find that Nina's eyes are a peculiar shade of green, and that Lizzie's bookshelf juxtaposes Einstein and Larkin, and that Lou's collection of geek-books is way better than mine.
We discussed literary theory a lot. No, really.
