Quick question

Have given up on T3 as writing device -- battery life just not worthwhile even with a booster pack.

Now considering a Phenom or similar CE device. Ebay offers several but the ads are contradictory.

So: does the Phenom have a USB drive (into which I could plug my pen drive)? And if not, are there other CE devices which do?

I would be interested in hearing your conclusions as I am considering what PDA to buy and being able to write with it is pretty important.

I suspect the best option, given the way I write now (on multiple PCs, and ideally while travelling) is going to be something that'll accommodate that pen-drive. (It'd also get around the issue of multiple copies of files.) T3 problematic because of poor battery life and general unhandiness of display etc -- I actually preferred the good ol' Visor in monochrome, large font mode -- and I don't really care for the Palm wireless keyboard I'm using. Something smaller than a laptop, with an option to run from standard batteries and a USB port, would be ideal. Therefore, it probably doesn't exist ...

As I recall, the latest Pocket PC OS does introduce support for USB devices, but chewing battery is a problem for sustained connection.

There's a Compact Flash USB adapter from Ratoc http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/products/subpages/cfu1u.html taht works with Pocket PC 2000/2002/2003 so you put that in teh CF slot and then plug a USB drive into it.
