Professionalism

Me: [multiple emails regarding possibility of exchange today]
Solicitor: $FreeholdMgmtCo will not send the Insurance until you pay the money, they will not wait until completion. They said that they need £110.000.00.
Me: WHAT? ONE HUNDRED AND TEN THOUSAND? [yep, I shouted]
Solicitor:Yes, they said that is how much you owe them
Me: That is absolutely ridiculous... I am very very unhappy about this -- and there is no way I can pay £110,000.
Solicitor: No it's only £110.00.

edit I should add that there's a 5-10 minute gap between each of the above emails.

Wasabi-coated chopsticks are inadequate.

You need to upgrade to capsaicin suppositories. (Under the fingernails, once you've used all the usual orifices.)

OTOH I'm not sure "professionalism" is the concept we're really after. "General competence" is more to the point.

LOL! (Glad it was an error. Jeesh!)

I think you're into Law Society complain territory with this one, to be honest.

I think it's been there for several weeks.

Indeed. This woman is a liability (the solicitor, I mean, not Tanya).

'lack of professionalism' isn't appropriate.

"Bunch of inbred monkeys" is.

[identity profile] woolymonkey.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, lay off the monkeys, we know the difference between 10 bananas and 100 bananas!

[identity profile] pennski.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Is the first "Many bananas" and the second "Bananas, bananas, bananas"?

[identity profile] woolymonkey.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Not bad!

It actually goes like this:
a banana (1)
a bunch (10)
a tree (100)
a tesco (1,000)

Tamaranth's hopeless solicitor confused "one tree" with "one tree of tescos" - so much for evolution.

Well that's your next novel sorted: a cross between This Life and Franz Kafka. I look forward to reading it.

Words fail me. This is so far beyond incompetence...

Nuke 'em. Nuke 'em till they glow. From orbit. With radioactive wasabi.

This is just WTF!?!?!?! territory, and then some. That it gross incomptentence and, on top of all you've been through, is grounds for formal complaint.

'lack of professionalism' is woefully inadequate
