More straw for the back

Email from letting agent: "the amount we have received from you for his over paid rent is £34.71 less than we need it to be. The amount Ravi should be refunded is £485.15 and not £450.44."
email to letting agent: "the shortfall is probably because your original email said that the rent was overpaid by £450.44, see attached email."
telepathy in general direction of letting agent: "GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE"

In other news, have spoken to solicitor who was all smiles and cheer like someone doing her job properly. Have agreed to send her ~40 unnumbered pages received by fax in February 2000 when I was buying the place. "Yes," she says, "of course 'office copies' refers to Land Registry stuff."
telepathy in general direction of solicitor "WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO THREE WEEKS AGO? NOW GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE"

Cunning plan: I will go away and leave them alone.

Solicitors vary. The one who handled the sale of my flat and the buying of my house was very efficient. The one who handled my dad's will took a year to do it, requested fees before the job was complete, and took so long that the Inland Revenue fined me the remainder of the cash estate for late payment.
Then there's my pal Ch. who is surely far too nice to be a solicitor but is one!

Just had a go-round with my accountant.

Them: "Please return the form we asked you to send in hard copy last month."

Me: "WTF? I had it had-delivered to your office three weeks ago!"

Me [starts planning email to senior partner which will speculate about the advantages to both sides of my finding accountants who turn up for meetings, don't lose forms and are not too busy to see me in August]

Them: Oh yeah, we found the form. Sorry."
