When Food Lies
The treacle tart that followed my lovely lunch in the Old Spring came with a dollop of Chantilly cream. Mmm, I thought, looks delicious and fluffily harmless: a tiny taste can't hurt.
HOW WRONG I WAS.
Clearest adverse reaction I've had for years. Had about half-teaspoon of Chantilly cream. Stomach rebellion within the hour; feeling weak, fatigued and headachy; home, to doze for a couple of hours*; still rather wobbly, very thirsty and strongly disinclined to ever eat anything again.
* OZ SAYS: Minion in bed! Must SPIKE!

I have become very leery of things in mayonnaise type sauces 'cos I'm never sure when they've stretched it with yoghurt/ creme fraiche/ cream or butter.
