"I'm feeling low: I'll finish off that box of ice-cream truffles" is a really stupid idea if you are even slightly lactose-intolerant. Especially if you were feeling nauseous to start with.
Precis: - my lactose-intolerance is weird and possibly not real. Cheese never sets me off. Ice cream is usually fine -- I can eat a lot without ill effects.
- long wibble about terminology 'self-harm'. Implies intent which was not there (only 'harm' should've been to waistline / hips). Also, slippery slope; whole big discussion about distinction between self-harm and not. (High heels? Smoking? Nylon undies? One glass of wine? One glass too many?)
Watching TV is closer to self-harm, for me, than ice cream! (Am wondering what it was about that particular brand -- of course I have binned all evidence -- that made me so very ill, in a way that whole milk or yoghurt do, and ice cream, mousse etc usually don't.)
