Hee! Marvel is out to take over the world, one way and another. For me it started with a couple really wonderful Avengers fics in which I fell in love with Tony Stark (and Steve/Tony, although I totally buy other pairings, too). Now my new favorite DVD is the first Iron Man, and some of the other Marvel movies are on the wish list. So yeah, I too pretend now and again to resist, but it's futile.

And yes indeed, my quote is from LoTR! From the chapter - Shadows of the Past - wherein Gandalf fills Frodo in on some backstory. Poor Frodo's idyllic existence is upended as we watch. Being of hobbity tendencies myself, I'm pretty sure I could be blissfully happy with his life - as it was until this chapter, of course.
