Exploding Head Explained
Four-day not-quite-migraine + lethargy / lowness + wobbly tooth + sinus ick ... yes, I have a nasty (but antibiotic-treatable) gum infection.
yay NHS! My 'emergency' appointment -- X-Ray, consultation, prescription -- cost me £16.20 + prescription-filling charge, and took place less than 48 hours after I started phoning around (though I did have to drive to Royston if I wanted an appointment any time this week).
They strongly recommend I register with a local dentist. The locals are all booking to May for NHS, and I'll probably have to go private if I wanna be sedated, which is pretty much essential for anything more excavationy than a gentle prod. But I'm relieved -- and, given my usual twitchiness around dentists, glad it went smoothly and more or less painlessly.
I'm already missing solid food, and shall be missing alcohol (on the whole) for the next seven days.
