muddy-headed

Heads-up Cambridge residents: I can recommend Bamboo hairdressers* on Mill Road. Good coffee, good conversation, good haircut (£35 but definitely worth it, it took him an hour and looks fab), and I came out feeling more relaxed than when I went in (rare, and unheard of at Supercuts).

Bamboo are serving mulled wine at the Mill Road Winter Fair on Saturday.

Now applying Lush henna, mixed with half-and-half lemon juice and hot water ... and a rather fetching Sainsbury's carrier bag, as I can't find my shower cap. Then I shall sloth with kitty, McKillip and cherry-cinnamon tea (edit and Terry's Chocolate Orange, 'Cosmic Toffee Crunch' variant, the wages of sin 'babysitting'), watching the pretty winter sunset, looking at the frost, listening to Rachmaninoff.

*judging by their website they can't spell 'appointment', but then I didn't go in for their spelling.

Elaje over on Homerton Street are pretty good too, so much so that I'm contemplating an appointment in the new year if I get the new job. Yes, I do think it's worth driving 70 miles for a good hairdresser. Hell, I've been known to drive a lot further than that for a hairdresser I could trust...
