Ouch

Last Sunday, I sat up in bed and did something horrid to my back. (This has happened once before, in a kitchen in Narrow Street in 1996: sudden acute pain, temporary difficulty in moving. In that instance it was disk damage, or possibly a disk crash.) Have been persevering all week -- thank heavens for co-codamol! -- but am not robust, and 'specially not after train travel (which I seem to be doing rather a lot of at the moment). So, no B-Movie for me! waaaa!

In brighter news, I went to a company social (summer BBQ and quiz night) last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Our team won wine and chocolates -- nasty cheap chocs, but still -- for being clevver and well-read. How nice it is to work with people I can actually engage in conversation! (Though apparently they all think I am Young. Bwa ha ha.)

Luckily I stuck to Strongbow, which is nasty, so have no hangover this morning ...

Back pain is evil. But good to hear that the party was good. The summer bash at The Evil Empire was okay, but far from fantastic, despite a very maritime theme.
