Those who attended the 'why fans like cats and how can we get them to stop' panel at Eastercon (answers: 'because they're story-able and possibly because they've infected us with toxophilia; it's too late to reverse the process now') may remember me claiming that my landlady has much more fun with fish onna stick than our feline overlord ever does. Dinner with sbisson and marypcb: delicious and innovative food, but I realised too late that my seat was aligned with junction of Cherry Hinton Rd and that oncoming headlights had triggered visual disturbance and brought back the migraine I'd spent the afternoon fending off. Alimentum's retro decor - big on mirrors, asymmetry, parallel lines - produced some fascinating SFX... Food and wine (not to mention company) so very pleasing that the evening balanced out! A hefty post-prandial dose of Migraleve averted the worst of the migraine, though I still feel as if I've overexercised every muscle group.
