Of course. Equally, because I like a person very much it does not always mean I like their work, or even see their characters the same way as as they do. Nor, if I criticise their work or a particular view/belief of theirs, does it mean I am criticising them as a person. *sigh*
Likewise, an actor is not the character in a TV series and it as well not to assume that the character has the same characteristics as the actor. There are TV and film characters I adore while I think the actor/director/writer is a total prat.
We all have to remember, also, that our internet personas are very different from the way we are in reality, even if we try to make them the same. People can't intuit that someone who says something they don't like is vulnerable and, when told afterwards, are liable to feel mildly guilty and therefore react with even more venom.
