Technology ICK

Vanity, the latest iPhone app that's going to change how you evaluate people—or more specifically rate the hotness of the redhead eyeing you from across the bar

My translation:
- Men! unable to tell whether or not you find a woman attractive? Insult her and humiliate yourself by using an iPhone app to score her appearance from 1 to 10. For added *ICK* points, "you can save the results and share them on Facebook".

Dear friends-with-iPhones, please to be making sure your phone is insured against 'accidental' damage before pointing that thing at me.

Or alternatively ...
- Women! unable to tell whether or not you find a man attractive? Insult him and humiliate yourself by using an iPhone app to score his appearance from 1 to 10. For added *ICK* points, "you can save the results and share them on Facebook".

(Other combinations left as exercises to the reader.)

I'm not sure whether it's more insulting to have one of those pointed at one, or to have one of them offered to me to do the pointing.

I fear you might have picked the wrong demographic.....

Tell her you're doing field research in the name of science (and if she's still on the fence, mention that it'll help the children).

er, have you read that write-up I linked to? (It's the review I take exception to -- the actual app seems designed simply to measure attractiveness, of self or other, and is presumably available to women as well as men ...)
