A message from the Universe
Saturday, April 14th, 2007 01:28 pmI just walked into the lounge and plucked a book from the shelf. The book was still shrink-wrapped though I bought it at least 10 years ago (from TSP, who used to shrink-wrap everything). I discarded the packaging, opened the book at random ...
... and found the exact same examples ('a bird in the the bush', a sentence with 8 f's not 6) that were used in Dr Guillaume Thierry's 'Braintrix' (on the brain's perceptual tricks), the George Hay lecture last Saturday at Eastercon.
*prod*, went the Universe. Pay attention. [...] shouldn't have to keep reminding you..
The book was Sue Knight's NLP at Work: I will be posting later about what prompted me to finally open it.

Date: Saturday, April 14th, 2007 10:48 pm (UTC)I think I read part of a chapter...I'm not very disciplined about stuff like that I'm afraid.
There is a lot of useful stuff in NLP, from what P. has said. Just don't do what certain people have done (yes, John & Yvonne Meaney, I'm talking about you!) and turn NLP into an evangelical religious experience...
Do let us know how you get on with it.
