More Straw

At the beginning of the week the consensus seemed to be that my flat sale might get to exchange in the next fortnight.

But no.

An Estate Agent Writes: "I am afraid there is a delay. Apparently your solicitor did not look at the replies to enquiries which they received and sent them to your buyers solicitor."

I add: Apparently my solicitor is an idiot not doing her job, because I've now seen a copy of what she sent the buyers' solicitors, and it is stamped all over with 'refer to managing agency' -- even on the enquiries where I have provided information. (How the hell would the managing agency know the plan for handing over the keys? Or whether the property is actually empty?)

Your starter for ten: Can I sack my solicitor? Can I demand a new one? What are the implications?

A more wholesome irritation: LIVEJOURNAL

Paid members will never see any advertising on LiveJournal as long as they're logged in to their account.

Ha ha ha ha ha <,/cynical laughter>

"A few weeks ago, we told you about a new tool from Snap.com that provides visual previews on external links within your journal. Based on your positive response, we've enabled these graphics for Basic and Plus users."

Now, one might think from this that someone logged into a permanent account wouldn't get those bloody irritating popups 'visual previews. But NO!

What they really mean is, 'Paid members will never see any advertising on LiveJournal as long as they don't venture near a Basic or Plus account.'

Yes, I know there is a way to switch it off but I shouldn't have to.

And even better! I DO have them switched off. It just doesn't have any effect!

This is so much more rewarding (not to mention cheaper) than getting upset with my solicitor.Who is unaccountably not answering her phone.

given the tenor of today's online experiences ...

... I should probably be glad that I will now be offline til Monday morning.

EDIT: next time I decide I don't need wireless connectivity on my PDA, kick me.
