Weekend
Somehow managed to achieve perfect balance over the weekend, e.g. went out and did social stuff (and very nice it all was too, what with pub on Friday and picnic / pub / pizza on Saturday *waves to everyone I spouted nonsense at*) and still managed to finish Quicksilver and The Confusion. However, should know better than to start reading when I get home late -- I woke up from uneasy dreams of being crushed to death by a great weight, Saturday morning, to discover that I had dozed off on the sofa while reading Quicksilver ...
My theories are not disproved, though I note that there is at least one less person-of-longevity scurrying around Baroque Europe than I had previously thought. And I am undecided as to whether Mr Stephenson is making a point about the interchangability of individuals on an historical level, or what.
